Chalten 3
I came back from yesterday's hike feeling wiped out, so active rest was required for today. A short hike up to the top of the high clifts across the river to the east of town.
In regards to yesterday's calamitous loss, this morning, I waited until the shop was open to buy a replacement mate. Later then, when I returned from my short hike to the campsite, I did my good deed for the day by saving a tent from being blown away by the wind; when, I thought that thats an unusually square shaped tent. Then looking again, saw the tent was on it's side with the square floor facing me and if it was left alone much longer, it may have blown away altogether. I ran and finding tent pegs, pegged it out seccurely. The unknown owner nowhere to be seen.
The wind was particularly strong this afternoon, so was the sun, because I got a bit sunburned in the hour I lay on top of my bivouac listening to podcasts. And this evening, could've been more disasterous than losing a cup. I went away to update the journal, then continued to Patagonicus for dinner, when having ordered pizza, I remember I left my solar charger out hung on rhe fence unattended. Well, I suppose hikers are all honest. They are. The charger was still on the fence when I got back.
