A Good Omen For a New Cycling Year (page 2)

Replying to myself because, well, just because I suppose; more tools found on today's ride.  These 2 wrenches were nowhere near the location I found the previous tools, and I found the 2 of them at separate locations more than 10 miles apart.  Each was lying just off the roadway in the gravel/dirt shoulder.

2 Craftsman wrenches found 10 miles apart

The wrenches are a bit rusty, but I'll soak them in evapo-rust for a couple of days and then take a wire brush to them and they'll look fine. Seems nuts to me - why do I find so many tools?  Better question; how do so many tools get lost alongside the roadway?  The larger wrench is a 5/8 inch spanner with a ratchet end.  And for the amusement of you folks living in the metric (sane) world; the smaller wrench is one of those 10mm wrenches that no one can seem to keep!   And since I was on a roll I stopped for the nickel I spotted as well.  Gee whiz; I bet I could sell the tools I find at flea markets and maybe make a buck a week.  Looking like a good year, here's hoping it's a great year for all.

I was glad to see you met up with Mark.  Now all three of us can say we've met each other.  Mark must be on a Cycleblaze meet-up tour because The Feeshko and I enjoyed a meal with Mark and Heather last month up here in the Twin Cities.  He didn't offer to be my "bicycle spiritual advisor," but he did give me an autographed picture of our previous meet-up in Cedar Rapids, IA.

Hi Buddy, I'm always happy to help out, but I think you accidentally added an extra "A" in "BSA Mark," at least according to Heather.

And all I'll be doing is pointing (and for selfish reasons: so I can read your journal) - you're the one doing all the work.

To be clear, you earned that picture:  in my last journal I promised an autographed photo of a future Pulitzer Prize winner to anyone who read all of my journals. I honestly didn't think anyone could do it. Unless you own a Red Bull distribution center, or perhaps have an IV drip of caffeine, that's quite a feat.

I should also note the prize isn't commensurate with the feat, because the autograph wasn't from the future prize winner, it was from me.
