El Calafate
I have googled Calafate wikipedia: founded in October 1927 as a service centre for the sheep farms in the area. In 1937 the nearby Los Glacieres national park was establish and the national park centre became the largest building in town in the decades that followed. It wasn't until the early 1970s until tourists began coming to see the Perito Moreno glacier and the size of the town has grown ever since.
I feel like this is a crossroads for me and its hard to decide which way next. Do I turn around and return north, which would mean revisiting a lot of places I passed on the way down and many days of misery struggling against headwind too. Or do I continue south? Back to Chile, Puerto Natales and then Punta Arenas. Decisions, decisions.
