Hiya

Thought I would add some detail to my profile. We are Tom and Marilee, from Vancouver, BC.  We are what I would call utilitarian cyclists.  That is, we have used bikes as a central form of transportation for many years, both for things like commuting to work, running errands as well as for fun trips out of town. We have just found it to be the ideal way to get places -- efficient, fun, easy, low maintenance, though often challenging but in a Type 2 fun kind of way which satisfies some sort of masochistic impulse I suppose. 

We were both daily year round commuters when we were working, and got accustomed to that little dopamine squirt of smugness answering "yes" when someone asked on a particularly torrential day "you didn't ride in this did you?" We have explored a lot of Southern BC and Northwest Washington by bike -- it is a spectacular place to live, though, ah... hilly.
