The next day we cycle to Colesberg (99.8km)and see grassy plains. The following day to Thrompsberg (121km) we again ask to camp at a motel and given a room instead.

Grassy plains....and an Ostrich feather on a handlebar bag. We follow the railroad and when we see the train we shout "de Train, de Train" (remember Fantasy Island?)

Along this stretch we devised a synchronized wave when trucks would pass.

Thromberg: we asked to camp at the hotel, they gave us a free room....

...so we reciprocate by buying beer and dinner

They see us off the next as we cycle toward Bloomfontein reaching 40km south of the city.
