Kasbah Tisourgane: Ancient fortress
This was a great ride- no traffic. Komoot wanted to take us on a side road for the entire ride but we decided to stay on the main route because the grade looked better. I think this was a good choice- we could often see the other road to our right and it looked like a lot of up and down. The highest we got was 4,400' and it was down hil for the last 2-3 miles. There was a place to have coffee about 5 miles from the end.
The Kasbah is intricately constructed with rocks. We had a propane stove in our room and we used it because it was cold. We walked all over the kasbah taking photos. It was so interesting-lots of come to this place just to walk through it (for a fee) so staying there overnight made it all the more special. And, it wasn't all that expensive- $74 with breakfast and dinner. Highly recommended.
Dinner was in a common dining room. There were only a few other people there so we all wound up talking together. One of them started telling us about a couple of neat places to stay and as a result of that conversation we made some delightful changes to our route.
