Brent I’ll contribute this one.
Something I associate with cycle touring are brilliant sunsets and sunrises.
Especially here in the wide open spaces of Australia.
Oh boy, a 'best of' topic! So many magical days come to mind, but this one stands out. Rachael and I were biking east of Maniago along the Dololmitic Pre-Alps and happened upon this cloud of Griffon vultures. The whole last several days had already been a knockout, but this almost eclipsed what came before.

Thanks Scott. That’s Port Kenny in South Australia. Coincidence of fiery skies, but it’s an area not far from where nuclear bomb tests were done in the 1950s.

Like most of us, it's hard to choose the best photos from tours because they all hold special memories. This one is from my first long solo self-supported tour, riding the Transam route; it took some effort to get atop the Blue Ridge that morning, and the fog made it all seem magical.
I distinctly remember my best day of bike touring because I distinctly remember writing about how great it was. It had great weather, great scenery, moderate traffic, great internal vibes and, as a bonus, I got buzzed by a Peregrine Falcon. I've had quite a few great days of touring since that day in 2019, but I don't think I've ever written so glowingly about any of them. Here comes a picture, followed by a link to the page that describes my perfect day.

Flush from the climb and giddy with anticipation of the payback. Furka Pass October 2018. Every tour has moments like these that stick with you.

We had a lot of fun times introducing grandkids to cycle touring. One of our most memorable moments came as we completed a ride on the Trail of the Coeur d'Alene in Idaho in 2013 with five year olds Avi and Violet. It had been a great ride, but we found Avi sitting on the curb looking very demoralised. He explained: "But guys, I'm not done having fun yet". It's an image and a quote that has gone down in family history.

This photo captures a moment on the road 2 hours ago near my home. Definitely no Bigfoot in the photo.

This photo was taken on a day when everything felt great and the bike just glided along. I'm not sure if the memories make the photo more than it is (for me) or if the photo reminds me how I felt that day: feeling happy and lucky enough to be cycle touring, in this instance in Istria.
