Cape Town

I am finally in Cape Town after another long flight.  I skipped dinner and went straight to sleep as soon as I could and I finally woke up with about 2 hours left in the trip.  Once we (me, Robert and Jeannette) cleared immigration our pre-arranged transfer took us to our hotel for the next 3 nights.  I had forgotten how slow clearing customs can be (about 45 min in line) because we are spoiled now at home with our automated system.  We are staying in a very cute boutique hotel on the edge of the CBD.

After a brief pause, shower and a change to summer clothes since is 28C here we wandered off to water front to take in some sites and have dinner.  It felt good to get moving again.

Coffee is a big part of Turkish culture and the airline provided this history lesson and explanation of coffee types.

Hilary JaegerLove the seagull perched atop the penguin. Also love the evidence that other seagulls have been there before!

This sail boat entered one of the canals that lead from the harbour. The pedestrian bridge had to swung open to allow it to pass.
