Robertson rest day

AOur rest day got a little mixed up because of a wild fire in the area where we were going.  Fortunately the road that was closed last night opened today so we could get to the pretty town of Montagu for the Saturday market.  After the market instead of going to the pools and spa we had  wine tasting and a lovely lunch on a house boat, as we cruised the Breede River.  Tim will recognize this from last time.  Once back in town George (my German buddy) and I stopped at the Robertson winery for a very quick tasting.  They normally stop at 3 but at 3:15 we pleaded our case and they acquiesced , maybe saying was from Canada helped.  We sat with 3 lovely South Africans who were off to a wedding one of whom had a speaking part.  I think they were taking in some liquid courage.  Anyway we had a delightful time chatting.

The local news article last night. Apparently a local honey producer lost all of his bees and hives in the fire.

Beaded objects are very common here. Note a sheep by the pool.
