Back to Victoria Falls

Before heading off to Victoria Falls I enjoyed another lovely breakfast again with complimentary mimosas. After breakfast I just sat and watched the river in the shade and cooling breeze. At 9:30 I went for a short nature walk mostly to kill time until my transfer at noon back to Victoria Falls, my last stop before going home.

I transferred back to Victoria Falls from Botswana doing the same bureaucratic process at the Zambezi border.  All in it was about a 2 hour drive to my last African accommodation.

A termite mound. It is an apartment complex for the king and queen with the worker and soldier termites. It is made of dirt and small stones mixed with termite saliva. You can always tell direction by these becasue they lean to the west.

Tree damage by elephants. They do a lot of damage eating everything in sight.

A saw one of these through seniors binoculars but it was too far away to capture with my phone.

We saw this female elephant on the way back to VF. You can tell male from female by the shape of their forehead. Males are more rounded while females are a bit square. BTW females rule the roost in a herd.

Victoria Falls in the rainy season. The mist can be seen 50km away and the roar heard 40km away.

Margaret KavanaghIt has indeed been a great adventure. Even though I did the SA part 7 years ago they changed things up so it made for a whole new experience. We had an amazing group and guides. There was one German guy who reminded me of the one you called coach when weโ€™re in NZ. Germans just canโ€™t help being German. Glad to hear from you and maybe we can FaceTime when I get home. No politics, I promise.
